DESTINY was written October- November 1998. It is a dramatic exciting piece in four sections. The main theme introduced in the first section, is a twelve tone row representing the 12 months of the year against a quaver motive - as heartbeat. It is repeated in different ways, not only rhythmic, but also in mirror reflection and as a semi-quaver motive. A tonal motive is repeated against the 12-tone tune. The title "Destiny " appeared appropriate for this idea. Although the work has a dramatic character, it should also convey the attitude that determination and resolution can determine one's Destiny. The third section dissolves into a dramatic rhythmic conversation between percussion and strings before returning to the opening themes. The piece ends with the calling of trumpets and trombones. Destiny has been performed, and recorded onto CD for international release by Vienna Modern Masters. The concert and recording took place in Olomonouc, Czech Republic and was performed by the Moravian Philharmonic orchestra, June 2000.
