Duo for Violin and Piano

 

The two main elements which form the basis of this 7-minute piece are:

the slurred quavers and intervals of the opening;

the North East folk song "Dance to your Daddy" in a less familiar version of the tune. It is first introduced in slow notes by the violin just over half-way through the piece.
