This is the first movement of an earlier Sonata for Harp and Violin (2000) commissioned and published by Victor Salvi.
The movement is in three sections either side of a development or working-out - the proportions, small and large, of the entire work and each movement are determined by the Golden Section. Much use is made of irregular 3+3+2 groupings.
