This substantial work for chorus, soloists and orchestra is a setting of the story of Christ's Passion, with commentary in the form of arias and 'hymns', using alternative texts of the gnostic tradition, including the Gospel of Marcion, the Odes of Solomon, the Hymn of Jesus, the Panarion and the Psalms. It is inspired by and modelled on the Passion settings of Bach, and lasts about one hour.
