The End-Or Is it?
This is a commentary on the stereotyped ending of many pieces written from the classical period onwards. One of my revered teachers very wittily described such endings as “typical blow-suck stuff”, and this piece can be regarded as an affectionate tribute to his memory.
The first performance of this piece was given by Jolyon Laycock at the Severnside Composer Alliance New Music Day on the 22nd of February 2020, held at the Bristol Music Club.
