Additional Information

These variations are based on the well-known Welsh folk-song Cysga Di, Fy Mhlentyn Tlws (Sleep, Thou, My Pretty Child) and were written in 1981 especially for and with the assistance of John Arran who gave the first performace at the North Wales Music Festival in 1981.  The piece was commissioned by the North Wales Music Festival with funds provided by the Welsh Arts Council.
