Mosaics was originally written in 1980 for Martin Vishnick and is dedicated to my first son, Nicholas, who was born in that year. It was later revised in 2010, the major change being the addition of time signatures. The work lasts just under 7 minutes.
It is composed of a number of elements, some very short and others not so short, and these elements are strung together in the manner of a mosaic. These elements are grouped to form two main sections, and are constantly being developed during the course of the work.
