Additional Information

‘Reconciliation’ is for violin and piano and was written in 2011 for two of my more promising students.  I wrote it as a result of a performance of my ‘Plea for Concordance’ for two cellos and piano, which was given its first performance by the ensemble ‘Due Cellisti’ in Bloemfontein on 15 July 2011.

Running through the three movements of ‘Plea for Concordance’ is a recurring theme which I called the ‘reconciliation theme’, so I arranged this theme for violin and piano and called it simply ‘Reconciliation’. It reflects the concept of resolving conflict, whether domestic, national, or global.
