Partita for Flutes is a four movement solo piece for flute, doubling alto flute and piccolo. It was completed in 2013 and lasts, in total, around 11½ minutes.
The first movement, for ordinary concert flute, is a dance in irregular rhythms, called ‘Geometric Dance’. The second movement is for alto flute and is a Berceuse, a kind of lullaby. The third movement is a Burlesque and is for piccolo. The fourth movement returns to the standard concert flute and is a peaceful Aria.
