Written for the Endymion Ensemble.
Music which mixes freely composed dissonance and more straightforward harmonic sequence. At this stage I still felt uneasy about completely losing the comforting blanket of bland atonality but was determined to leave it behind me as soon as I could find a way. You can hear this disjunction unfold as angular atonality juxtaposes static, revolving harmonies. But a threatening, brooding melodic fragment suddenly bursts out of its chains and spits minor key venom at the surrounding material.
