Additional Information

Commissioned by a friend to celebrate the birth of his niece, this is a joyful outburst of praise to God. It sets the original Latin text and contains a mix of:
- long unison plainsong-esque melodies for the whole choir to acclaim ‘with one voice’;
- shorter phrases based on simple reciting notes as used by celebrants at services over the years;
- polyphonic passages to emphasize the sheer numbers of worshipers wishing to praise God; and
- harmonies drawn from the earliest examples of church music written for part singing right through to the more ‘cutting edge’ styles of the early twenty first century.
