Thomas Tallis, John Taverner and the many and varied rounds that children learn were the inspirations behind this setting of words from The Book of Hours. Children often have their first experience of part singing through the medium of rounds, and so I thought why not see what the effect of a choral 'round' would be. The basis of the piece is a simple SATB setting of the words, and it can be used in this way to great effect. However, once the choir are confident with their parts, why not try splitting them into 2 (or even 4) groups and try the piece as a round - the sound is amazing and really uplifting for both singer and listener alike!
