Additional Information

The poem 'Stanzas' by John Clare reflects his mental state at the time of writing. This one-movement work uses material from a song setting I made of the poem in 1989, further to attempt to engage with his expressed bewilderment. A version for violin and piano of the song setting is listed under the title 'Cloud Shadows'.
