At Wakefield's death in 1997 a large number of 35mm slides of his paintings were still in the composer's possession, the intention being to create another audio-visual work, some aspects of which had already been discussed with the artist. These have been arranged and edited by the composer.
The first public mechanical, manual performance (Brighton Festival 2004) used carousels and a dissolve unit. The current digital recording differs slightly from the original.
