              Additional Information
Hawaiki; Six Conceptions is a substantial revision and major expansion of an earlier work, The Four Periods of Creation, written but never performed in 1983 when I was an undergraduate student. It adapts texts from 'Te Ika a Maui, or New Zealand and its Inhabitants' by Reverend Richard Taylor (1805-1873), in particular drawing upon its depictions of Maori creation myths. Scored for large orchestra and chorus in six movements, the new work lasts approximately 45 minutes, making it among the longest and most ambitious of my compositions.
