Additional Information
This was an Arts Council-funded commission from Sparks Productions and South Park
Community Trust to compose choral and vocal music for the World War One memorial
mixed media play by Jennifer Leach, performed at the Queen’s House, Greenwich in
November 2014. The recording you will hear was performed by the Choir of the
Carmelite Priory, Kensington, made up of two tenors, two basses, two sopranos and two
altos and smaller variations within that, under the direction of Simon Lloyd, Director of
Music at the Priory.
It is a work inspired by Wilfred Owen’s life and poetry, and the life of artist Kathe
Kollwitz.
