Written for the Residentie Orkest as part of the 49th edition of Festival Dag in de Branding that celebrated the work of Russian composer Sofia Gubaidulina. As the title suggests, the composition consists of separate motifs that together form a homogenous, fluid piece. Although some motifs recur more than others, they all co-exist peacefully within an ordered framework.
