The general form is that of a minuet and trio. The main section is in E Phrygian and the trio section is in B with two augmented seconds, Cs and Gs being natural. This mode also has the Phrygian Cadence as the most satisfactory ending cadence. There is also minimal use of quartertones in this section, but they are essentially only passing notes emphasising the augmented seconds.
