Additional Information
This piece was one of several composed by members of staff at the University of Salford to honour the retirement of Keith Wilson who had been a driving force behind the introduction of the UK's first degree in band musicianship there. To ensure some degree of consistency, each composition was to include reference to the theme of the final movement of Haydn's Farewell Symphony, and the Perpetuum Mobile also includes reference to Tosti's "Goodbye."
Recorded by Black Dyke Band, cond. Nick Childs, World of Sound, WOS 155 (2020).
