Closed call for attendees of Music Tech Fest Berlin to work creatively with BMC data

Sound and Music is excited to announce a special opportunity for attendees of Music Tech Fest Berlin to respond to the British Music Collection dataset.

Sound and Music have a new development plan in place for the British Music Collection designed to open up the archive to become a 21st century tool for artists and audiences to discover the story of British contemporary music. These are exciting times for the Collection as we open up all of the music and stories to a wider audience.

We are seeking an artist to produce a creative response to the dataset of the Collection which can be hosted online. Beyond this, opportunity has a completely open theme and we encourage applicants to think adventurously, but it should respond to the contents of the Collection/its data and feature composers working today. Where work that an artist wishes to feature is not included in the Collection, it is possible to invite composers to submit their work/related materials (digital only) provided that they meet the acquisitions policy criteria.

Applications are welcome from anybody who is interested. Confidence in working with digital media online is essential. Sound and Music will be on hand to answer any technical enquiries throughout the process.
