The composition of this quartet was completed in June 2021. Each movement is different in mood, but they are interrelated by the inclusion of dotted upbeat rhythms. In addition, a melody from the Allegro reappears in a different metre in the Waltz, and harmonies from the Adagietto (a chaconne) reappear in the middle of the Presto.
