Music Machine 1

Additional Information

Music Machine 1 was originally written as a computer programme where a computer made all the performance decisions. This version is for live performance by any group of players; there is no minimum or maximum but a group of 10 or so works well. Musical instruments and ability are not essential though one or both will not be an impediment.

To perform this piece you will require a computer, tablet or mobile phone with a web browser. Whichever you choose, it must be visible to all performers at all times. If you have internet access then bookmark this page so you can load it when required:

If you do not have internet access you will need to download the web page in advance of the performance. Open (or refresh) the page in your browser when you want the performance to start.

Players can stand or sit anywhere in the performance venue; they do not have to be on a stage in front of the audience but can be spread out, behind the audience or beside the audience. The only essential is that they must be able to see the screen or a reflection of the screen to tell when the colour changes. Whilst the screen is red, players may move but must remain still whilst the screen is green.
