Augmentation explores the use of Double Harmonic Scales. The Double Harmonic Major Scale (sometimes known as the Arabic Scale) has minor second, major third, minor sixth and major seventh and dominates the second section. The Double Harmonic Minor Scale has minor third, augmented fourth minor sixth and major seventh and dominates the first section. The slow first section leads straight into the fast section without a break.
