
Biography
Santorini (they/them) began to teach themself music theory at the age of 7. At the age of 12, they began to study piano with Cuban pianist, Margarita Diaz Picaso. At this time, they had already been 10 years into a successful Martial Arts career, seriously considering a career in Dance. However, by the end of secondary school, and having invested further in their music studies, they had decided to pursue a career in Music, instead. They went on to study Music Education and Literacy Development at the then Mico Teacher's College, before transferring to the Edna Manley College of the Visual & Performing Arts' School of Music, where they studied Classical Vocal Performance with Soprano, Pauline Forrest-Watson, a protégée of Russian Mezzo-Soprano, Elena Obraztsova; Pianoforte with Dr. Roger Williams; and Violin, with Peter Ashbourne. After their successful début in February 2005, they began to mount concerts featuring their own compositions, and those of well-established traditional composers. In 2013, they studied Operatic Vocal Performance at Alcorn State University in the United States, with Dr. Byron Johnson.
