Robert E. Stansfield-Cudworth

Biography

Dr Robert Stansfield-Cudworth is a British Archivist, Historian, and Composer. His creative practice explores musical evocations of meaning and narrative, with his interest in symphonic music also embracing theatre and cinema.

Recent orchestral and instrumental creations include concerti, symphonic poems (inspired by historical, literary, and artistic subjects), chamber and choral works, and instrumental pieces.

His principal compositional influences are Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Dvořák, and Bruckner, amongst others.

He is an Archivist, Researcher, and Consultant, and was previously Tutor, Associate Lecturer, and Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Lancaster, and has also been a Librarian and Curator.
