Mella Faye

Biography

Mella Faye is a musician, actor and director. From 1999-2002 Mella toured extensively as Mella Faye & The Big Band, an original jazz funk fusion band. Between 2006-2012 she set up and ran The Hurly Burly Theatre Cafe, which toured major British arts festivals and more recently co-founded ARTBARS.

In 2016 Mella set up Pecho Mama, to begin creating work that fused her two creative obsessions; theatre and music. Through this platform, Mella creates progressive, music driven performance that boldly experiments with form, and digs deep into the human condition. Pecho Mama's first show, Medea Electronica, set the classic Greek Tragedy in the '80s to an original live Prog Rock and Electronica soundtrack. Medea Electronica toured nationally including to Latitude Festival, receiving a string of five star reviews, and following a run in Edinburgh was invited to FAE in Lima, Peru.
