Elizabeth Olivia Sempill Chute

Biography

Elizabeth was born in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, the youngest of six from a musical family, and lives in Italy with her husband.  

A BA Hons Italian and French graduate from the University of London and currently an MBA student, her career has had different strands from teaching English as a Foreign Language, to administrative and trainer roles, to working in the PR and Marketing industry.

Elizabeth sings, play the piano, and has been composing and writing lyrics since 2014. 

Early success  in 2015 came upon reaching two Semi Finals in the UK Song Writing Contest in the Instrumental and Lyrics only categories. 

Since debuting on Women of Substance Award-winning Radio and Podcast early in 2016, ‘Nostalgia alla Siciliana’ and ‘Out of Words’ were the most listened WOS Podcast Clammr posts. 2016 saw another two Semi Final awards in the UK Song Writing Contest for ‘The Fountain‘ and ‘The Piazza‘, a debut on Radio WigWam  as one of their BANDWagon Artists, and ‘The Fountain‘ featuring in the Women of Substance Top 20 listing thanks to fan votes. 

In 2017 Elizabeth featured on The Pat Stone Show, KB Radio, video episode 41 of  The Art Archaeologist Show and episode 5 of Your Music Radio. 

In 2018 Elizabeth received an Honourable Mention in the Finals of the Maurice Ravel International Composing Competition, with ‘The Piazza‘ (Instrumental category). She went through into the Semi Finals as the first placed instrumentalist for England. Elizabeth also achieved a Semi Finalist award in the 2018 UK Song Writing Contest for ‘The Dream‘.
