Biography
Eleanor is a sound artist, composer and singer based in Newcastle. Her practice involves audio production and draws on poetry, image and documentary narratives as source material for iterations of sound that emerge over time. Eleanor is particularly interested in making recordings of small spaces and embedding songs into rooms.
Eleanor writes and performs her music, teaches one-to one music lessons and runs creative workshops. Her work has been performed by UK based ensembles the Part Singers, Drift ensemble, An Assembly, Apartment House and Tre Voci; and soloists including Craig Ogden, Juliet Fraser and Kathryn Williams. Her work has been installed in exhibitions curated by UK based artists Charlotte Cullen, Jude Lin and Jorge Boehringer. She has had work broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and Resonance FM. Eleanor has an MA in Composition by Research from the University of Huddersfield and an undergraduate degree in Musical Performance with first class honours from Brunel University in London.
