Richard Reason

Biography

Born 1948. Attended Northgate Grammar School, Ipswich and at 18 The Royal Academy of Music (1966 - 70) studying under Cornelius Cardew. He was an early member of the Scratch Orchestra and his compositions were performed at many London venues including Wigmore Hall and the South Bank.

The genre in which he wrote was loosely termed 'Experimental Music'.
Later he moved to Bedfordshire where he taught in schools and colleges whilst still writing and performing. He left teaching to start a piano shop and piano auction business. Now retired, he still composes, writes poetry and creates art.
