Sasha Siem

Biography

Sasha Siem has recently composed music for Ensemble FA, White Rabbit, Anton Lukoszevieze, and London Musici. Current projects include a year-long project with the Genesis Foundation and the Royal Opera House in preparation for a work of music-theatre; a commission for flautist, Mario Caroli; a piece for this year’s Aldeburgh Festival as a result of the Britten-Pears contemporary course last summer; and a song for the London Sinfonietta.  She is also writing a piece for the LSO as a part of the LSO Panufnik scheme. Born in London in 1984, she was educated at Cambridge University where she graduated with a double starred first and completed an MPhil in Composition for which she was awarded the Arthur Bliss Prize. She is currently working on a PhD in Composition at Harvard and is also an exchange scholar at Columbia University.
