Additional Information

Revisited, Repurposed is a short work composed for organ that takes the material from an earlier piece of
mine. A few years ago, I was looking back through some older works as an opportunity to review and
observe some the elements that have changed and remained in my own composition practice, I was
struck by the simplicity and versatility of the material and how that could potential be translated onto
other instruments.

I first came across Huw Morgan’s Mainly Slow Organ Music series in 2022 whilst scrolling through social
media, being first draw to the lithograph-like drawing of the colourful tortoise and then the repertoire
that he was performing. A while passed and after thinking about the material from my earlier piece, my
mind put two and two together.

The material was workshopped at Saint John’s on the Wall Church in Bristol where Huw took the time
with me to explore and trial different combinations of stops, resulting in the choices of sounds listed
above in the instrumentation section on this page.
