The Jump is a short film inspired by an event in the writer and director, Leo Kei Angelos’ childhood... A literal leap of faith that defined the trajectory of his art & future career.

Despite Leo being a Vietnamese-born filmmaker, he’s never been able to return to his home country since running away to the United States almost 20 years ago. An active stunt professional and director of viral shorts, Leo deemed 2024 the year he was ready to confront his past and return to his place of birth. He aims to create stories that are authentic and honest.

Jake scored The Jump with a focus on 80s-inspired Synthwave and Retrowave, including synths from the time period such as the CS-80 and DX7, along with analogue textures and sound samples (sampling VHS cassette player noises, tape rewind sounds, etc).
