Tim Jones (born in Flint, North Wales) has been recording and releasing experimental music under the project name Pendro, since the 1990s. During his teenage years in the 1970s, whilst mainly spending any free time playing guitar, he also began experimenting with tape recorders and in particular tape loops, using whatever other sound sources that came to hand.

In the years 1974 and 1975 (aged 14/15), he had access to a local recording studio (Aber Studios), which was run by a local musician and located in the Courtaulds Aber Works factory site within the town.

It was during this time at Aber Studios, that the obsession with recording really took hold and further experiments with sound processing would be put to tape. In the early to mid 1980s, after living briefly in London, Jones spent a few years travelling and working in the Near East and Southern Europe and collected a considerable amount of location recordings, which were all captured via portable cassette devices.

In late 1989, he moved from London to Manchester and a year later he studied sound recording at Spirit Studios (SSR Manchester). Here, as well as studying the various recording processes and completing the coursework, he was also able to access the professional studio equipment of the time, which also provided many useful hours ‘booked in’ with the likes of the Akai S1000 Sampler and the ‘new’ digital recording systems and devices. He was also able to transfer his archive tape collection to DAT, which he has often used as source materials up to the present time.

In 1997, he formed the Fflint Central label with Barry Williams. Their various 20+ releases were distributed by Aquarius Records of San Francisco. In 2005, a restrospective CD of the label (‘Malpractice - A Fflint Central Primer’) was released on David Katznelson’s Birdman Records imprint in California.

Between 1997 to 2007, he was a member and co-founder of the groups- Berkowitz Lake & Dahmer (studio based with Barry Williams) and also White Cube and Triclops (both these groups playing live, mainly in Manchester). 



In 2008, he moved back to live and work in North Wales and mainly to concentrate solely on the Pendro recordings. Since then, many recordings have been released via an assortment of labels from around the globe.

He has also collaborated with various artists in the experimental music genre and has recorded many exclusive tracks for a wide variety of compilation albums, being released by various imprints and netlabels.
