Biography
Elliot Galvin is a composer, pianist and improvisor based in London, with a maverick imagination and magpie like ability to blend a disparate world of influences into his own unique musical vision. His critically acclaimed trio have released 4 albums to date being named one of the 2018 albums of the year in both Downbeat and Jazzwise Magazine and his entirely improvised debut solo piano album was named The Guardian’s jazz album of the month, calling it “A virtuosic, risk embracing one off”. As a composer he has been commissioned by a number of prestigious ensembles including the London Sinfonietta, Ligeti Quartet and St. John’s Smith Square and London Jazz Festival. As an audio artist he had a multi-disciplinary sound installation at the Turner Contemporary Gallery in 2014 and an installation as part of the 2021 Jerwood Encounters Fellowship in collaboration with Oxford Contemporary Music.
