Taxi Rank is a British/Australian non-binary drag performer, musician, composer based in London. Taxi creates performance works at the intersection of drag, classical and contemporary music using clarinet, bass clarinet, saxophone, loop station, electronics and/or backing tracks, as well as live vocals. Taxi is most interested in interdisciplinary, cross-art and cross cultural collaborations. Their works are absurd, quirky, surreal, post-modern, minimal, comedic and colourful or deeply affecting. Taxi comes from a performance background and brings to their compositions an experience gained from working with many instrument types. Particularly from their work in chamber music and the fringe opera scene in London but coupled with a passion for jazz and contemporary music. Taxi also has vast experience arranging diverse music for small and large ensembles.
