Helen Papaioannou is a composer and performer based in Sheffield, UK.

Helen has a fascination with the dynamics of group interaction & performance, and has collaborated with a variety of artists and ensembles.

Her new solo project, Kar Pouzi is a skronky soup of baritone sax and electronics, with a tendency towards a minimal sound palette & persistent grooves. Garlic Hug, her duo with Alessandro Altavilla, combines a playground of instruments, ranging from improvisations with found recordings, to wonky instrumental duos, to ritualistic coding psalms. Helen performs with various collaborators, and has played as one third of the bands Beauty Pageant and HOKKETT.
