Biography
Pia Rose Scattergood (b. 1999) is a composer-performer from Derbyshire. She recently graduated from Clare College, Cambridge with a BA (Hons) in music, and will be joining the postgraduate composition department at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in September 2020. Recent commissions include an orchestral work for Clare College Music Society (premiered in West Road Concert Hall), a work for Choir and Organ Magazine in partnership with Graham Ross and The Choir of Clare College Cambridge, and a sound installation for Queens' Arts Festival 2020.
While at Cambridge, Pia held both instrumental and choral scholarships, and specialises in the performance of contemporary classical works. Her most recent collection of freely improvised looper songs and accompanying graphic scores was featured by nonclassical as part of their Postcards from Home series.
