Sans Soucis

Biography

A timeless and unique songwriting interspersed with melancholy and hope.

Sans Soucis’ sound draws inspiration from a number of genre defying artists such as Laura Mvula, St. Vincent and Lianne La Havas, bridging the gap between the pop and jazz world, with an all-embracing soulful and folk flavour.

A honed taste rooted in her Italian and Congolese heritage, reminiscing the haunting compositions of Fabio Concato and the groove of Congolese rumba.

Launching her solo career in 2018, Sans Soucis released her debut solo EP “The Lover” in May 2019 with support from PRS Foundation’s Women Make Music fund, receiving glowing reviews from veteran broadcasters such as Tom Robinson (BBC 6) and Chris Douridas (KCRW). Her subsequent singles Visible, Mercy and Human were warmly welcomed by tastemakers such as Earmilk, Line of Best Fit, The Independent, BBC 1Xtra, The Selector and Worldwide FM. In April 2020 she is due to release her second EP titled Unfinished, with support from Help Musicians MOBO fund.

Sans Soucis’ notable past live appearances include supporting Joel Culpepper at Under the Bridge for the 2019’s Innervisions Festival, Nabihah Iqbal at Bush Theatre for Babylon festival, Ashley Henry at EartH Theate for EFG London Jazz Festival and Dino D’Santiago at The Jazz Cafe.
