Biography
As a composer, I have written many choral pieces including a number of Christmas Carols that have been published by Recital Music. In 2015, You do not fall, was performed by Kingston University Chamber Choir and The Way through the Woods was performed by Barnes Community Choir as part of Barnes Music Festival. My instrumental compositions include Suburban Foxes, which won the Vox Novus 60x60 competition project and was broadcast in the UK and on US radio in 2012. Tango reached number 5 in the Broadjam Latin American Top 10 Chart and my piece for piano, Worthwhile was a semi finalist in the UK Songwriting Contest in 2013.
As a performer I have sung in many choirs, and as a solo artist several of my tracks have been broadcast on Women of Substance Radio. More recently, I was involved as a backing singer on Barbie Benson's album, Forever Fluid. I play the piano and trumpet, and have a collection of weird and wonderful instruments that I like to experiment with.
In the past I have taught music to pre-school children but now focus my time on music theory which I teach privately. Alongside my passion for music theory, I also love to study music and I completed my MA in Music in 2011 and my MMus in Composing for Film and TV in 2015. I am currently working with Barbie Benson playing trumpet and writing arrangements for her next album as well as working on my own compositions.
