Alexander Proudlock’s journey in music began at the Royal Northern College of Music, where he studied composition under the guidance of Adam Gorb and David Horne. He further honed his skills through postgraduate studies with Christopher Austin at the Royal Academy of Music. 

Proudlock's journey in music has been marked by his exceptional orchestrations, whether in film, popular music, or classical compositions. His ability to infuse depth, emotion, and captivating orchestral colours into his work has made him a sought-after orchestrator, leaving audiences in awe of his talent and artistry. Proudlock's orchestrations have graced the world of film, with notable contributions to BBC Film and the fashion shows of the prestigious Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy Group (LVMH). His work with leading artists label Kobalt Music has further solidified his reputation as a skilled orchestrator in the industry. 

In the realm of film music, he has also written original music for film, including the Amazon Prime film Homesick (2021), BBC Film’s Round Here (2020), Netflix’s Exposed (2019), BBC THREE’s Shoplife (2013) and has worked amateur and professional orchestras to record his music. These include member’s of the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the Northern Film Orchestra, and the Chroma Ensemble. Recordings of such music have taken him to BBC Maida Vale Studios, Abbey Road Studios and Stoller Hall. 

Proudlock's talent as an orchestrator extends beyond film music. His arrangements have showcased his versatility and ability to bring out the beauty and emotion in different musical genres. He has made a name for himself in the popular music scene, contributing to the reimagining of tracks from Sam Fender's acclaimed album Seventeen Going Under and for the English pop duo, the Wasia Project. These projects have also featured working with legendary mastering engineer Simon Gibson at Abbey Road Studios. His orchestrations have breathed new life into the selection of songs, earning him recognition. Furthermore, Proudlock has lent his expertise to the renowned cellist Jonathan Bloxham, creating three exceptional arrangements of Christmas carols for cello and piano in 2016.
