Here is an extended exploration of sustained tones on the cello drawn from a chord in ratios 4:6:7:8:9, and the difference and combination tones they produce. The difficulty of sustaining highly acurate tuning over such a period of time may result in minor fluctuations of pitch which may open up other harmonic fields.
