Biography
Natalie Bleicher (b1978) is a pianist and composer living in Watford, Hertfordshire. She has written examination pieces for piano, electronic keyboard and harp, which are published by Trinity Guildhall. Her Open Score work 'Thalassa' is published by CoMA (Contemporary Music for All) in its Open Score Anthology and has been performed in the UK and in The Netherlands. In 2022 she was selected to join the ABRSM Writing for Music Education composer mentoring scheme. Natalie studied at Junior Trinity, New College, Oxford and Composition at King's College London. She studied composition with Melanie Daiken and Rob Keeley and currently studies piano with Thalia Myers.
As a pianist she loves performing contemporary music. In 2018 she performed as pianist with Lontano Ensemble in "Lines Spun", a CD of works by Jennifer Fowler. The same year she was selected to perform three works (including her own composition) in a live broadcast on Radio 3 for International Women's Day. In 2019 she performed as stage and rehearsal pianist in the premiere of 'Imoinda', a new opera by Odaline de la Martinez. Her solo CD 'Dream Rotation' features solo piano works by Sally Beamish, Paul Burnell, Cheryl Frances-Hoad, Rob Keeley, Joanna Lee and Dave Smith.
