Francis Ward
Biography
Solicitor by profession, Ward only developed interest in composition in his 30s. He then studied music at Morley College London with Anthony Milner and Iain Hamilton. He was writing what he himself called “accessible music”, focusing predominantly on orchestral works. His pieces include the orchestral suite Yucca Country, ballet suite Princess September, or Kaleidoscope for harmonica and orchestra dedicated to Tommy Reilly. He also wrote music for TV and film.
