Biography

Patricia Alessandrini’s compositions engage with issues of representation and interpretation, principally through the use of multimedia and live electronics. She studied composition with electronics at the Conservatorio di Bologna and IRCAM, and holds a diploma in composition from the Conservatoire de Strasbourg, a PhD from Princeton University, and a second PhD from SARC. She has taught at the Accademia Musicale Pescarese and Bangor University, and is currently Lecturer in Sonic Arts at Goldsmiths. In 2014 she was one of two UK representatives in the ISCM Composer Exchange project, She has had residencies with ICE Ensemble (2012) and Ensemble InterContemporain (2015-16).
