Jackie Walduck

Biography

Composer and performer specialising in the interface between improvisation and Composition. 

Studied with Jonathan Harvey then Peter Wiegold, PhD awarded by City University in 1998. 

Composes for and leads improvising chamber ensemble Ignite, and blindfold improvisers and interpreters of tactile scores Tactile. Co-curates Ethereal World ensemble and club events with flautist Rowland Sutherland.

Recent work involves compositions for improvising ensemble applied to many settings: a game opera The Migration Game. - and operatic locked door type game, Sensing Nature - a site specific piece for blindfold audience (with Adrian Lee). She is currently researching mosquito calls and the possibilities around person-mosquito musical and non musical relationships. 

Jackie also teaches at Kent University and the Royal Academy of Music.
