Dave Kane

Biography

Dave Kane is a Double Bass player, composer and band leader born in Northern Ireland. He started off playing electric bass guitar when he was 16, playing in local punk and alternative bands. He studied at North Down College and then at Bretton Hall of theUiversity of Leeds. He's played with well-known British Jazz musicians such as Evan Parker, Keith Tippett, Paul Dunmall, Elton Dean, Tony Levin, Mark Sanders, Alex Maguire and Paul Rogers. He is a founding member of Leeds Improvised Music Association and is the musical director and composer of the Leeds Improvised Music Association orchestra.
