Rebecca Louise Collins

Biography

Rebecca Collins is a creative arts researcher based in the North East of England. She works in a transdiscplinary and international context across the fields of performance and sound. Her practice is concerned with the sonorous aesthetics of contemporary performance and its potential for participatory engagement. She uses listening as a strategy for making live performance and installation pieces that span diverse themes. Current works explore eavesdropping and amateur espionage, the performativity of gender online and the vibrant potential of landscapes and rural communities. She is a lecturer in contemporary performance at the School of performance, visual arts and communications at the University of Leeds.
