Additional Information

North East Hauntings is the collective title of four pieces for piano composed in this order: Snow Sky, Sea Mist, Lullaby for Lost Skylines, Red Dust. In general the pieces are about memories and lost landscapes of North East England, e.g. Red Dust remembers Consett in the days of the Iron Company, when the whole town was covered with dark pink emissions at certain stages of the process. Lullaby for Lost Skylines remembers the collieries, shipyards, etc. and Sea Mist the keel boats and lives lost at sea.  The traditional folk song Have you seen owt of my bonnie lad is woven into the music of Sea Mist.
