ABOUT THE MUSIC

This soothing “miniature” for voice and piano is a setting of a traditional Basque lullaby, in ternary form (the score is marked “Quietly impassioned”).  A gentle rocking motion pervades the composition, with a busier middle section for the accompaniment, and an unexpected modulation in the coda.
