Biography

Larry Goves (b.1980, Cardiff) is an spnm shortlisted composer. He is currently at the end of a research course at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester  studying with Dr Anthony Gilbert and Professor Doug Jarman. His music has been commissioned and/or performed by the Nash Ensemble, the London Sinfonietta, the BBC Philharmonic, the Ixion Ensemble, the Continuum Ensemble, 175 East and many others. His music has been broadcast several times on BBC Radio 3 and been performed in the Queen Elizabeth Hall, the Purcell Room, the Warehouse in  London, the RNCM, at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music festival, toured as part of the BMIC's Cutting Edge series and played at many other venues around the  UK and abroad. His chamber work walking underground has been recorded by the London Sinfonietta and released by the new music label NMC. Later in 2006 he will have new works performed by the Hallé at  Manchester's Bridgewater Hall, by the London Symphony Orchestra at St Luke's Church in  London. His solo work the tentacles of memory is due to be released by the renowned oboist Melinda Maxwell on Dutton Epoch later in the year.
